1. Sharing Your Goals

Lets face it, we’ve all done it! How many of us have turned around, excitedly and told everyone who’d listen what we were going to do? STOP!While sharing your goals is fun and places some amount of accountability the reality is you’re setting yourself up for failure. Why? It’s called social reality – basically tricking your mind. How? When you get the congratulations and pat on the back for what you’re intending to do, your brain considers it basically done, therefore causing you to feel less likely to work towards it.

2. Not Filtering Your Thoughts

The mind can be both beautiful and scary. For those times when it is the latter make the choice to not focus on any negative thoughts. They only cause stress and rob you of peace, joy, and ultimately your life.

3. Placing your Goals/Dreams on hold

Your greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at things that don’t matter to you.

Remind yourself to keep talking about how you will start living our dreams tomorrow.

4. Not making time

 – Bottom line: “I don’t have time,” is really just a polite way of saying, “It’s not that important to me.”

When you want something you work for it; a car, a house, a fancy new outfit. You should feel the same way about your goals.

5. Underestimating Yourself

There are times when “talent” isn’t enough. Know that the value of work and practice can go a long way.

6. Not being a Problem Solver

Problems will “This problem is too big to solve.” – The problem is not the problem.  The problem is the incredible amount of over-thinking you’re doing with the problem.  Let it go and be free.

7. “I’m not ready yet.”

Truth? No one is ever really ready for an opportunity when it arises.  Possibly because we know that new opportunities force us to stretch ourselves and our comfort zones.  But sometimes the course of our lives depends on what we do or don’t do in a few seconds. Learn to seize the opportunity- or just miss it.
